[Indonesia] Local Electronics Industry Sees Revenue Plunge of 20% on Weak Spending
Revenue from sales of locally produced electronic goods is expected to drop by as much as 20 percent this year because of weakening purchasing power, the producers’ association has warned.

Sales this year are expected to hit Rp 32 trillion ($2.3 billion), down from Rp 40 trillion last year, according to Ali Soebroto Oentaryo, the chairman of the Indonesian Electronics Association (Gabel).
[Indonesia] Indonesia Still Has Room for Debt : Finance Ministry
Indonesia still has room to take out loans in order to achieve its infrastructure development goals and revive annual growth to 7 percent in the next four years, a top government official has said.

Suahasil Nazara, acting chief of the Fiscal Policy Office (BKF) at the Finance Ministry, said that increasing the country's debt to gross domestic product ratio — which currently stands at 25 percent — will not have an adverse effect as long as the loans are allocated towards infrastructure spending, instead of subsidies.

[Vietnam] Vietnamese still among most confident consumers
Nielsen report reveals consumer confidence rising slightly in Vietnam against declining sentiment in Southeast Asia.

While consumer confidence across a number of Southeast Asian markets dipped in the third quarter it increased slightly in Vietnam, to 105, up 1 percentage point (ppt) quarter-on-quarter and 3 ppt year-on-year and the country remains among the Top 10 most optimistic globally, according to the latest Consumer Confidence Index released by global information and measurement company Nielsen on November 4.

The survey also reveals that Southeast Asia is home to the world’s most confident consumers despite the dip in the third quarter.
