Indonesia will host an international recreational sports event, the Tafisa Games 2016, in October, with more than 74 countries already confirmed to take part.

This year’s Tafisa (Association for International Sports for All) Games will be the seventh overall. Participating athletes will compete in recreational and traditional sports rather than high performance ones.
[Indonesia] Back to Basics: Retro Games Make a Comeback in Indonesia
An increasing number of Indonesians are taking a stand against digital games like Pokemon Go that they say erode values, and encouraging children to play traditional toys like wooden spinning tops and bamboo pinwheels.

Tens of thousands of Indonesians were hooked on Nintendo’s augmented reality app, in which players hunt virtual characters in real-life places, months before the smash-hit game was officially launched in the Southeast Asian country.

But parents and teachers worry that children get too caught up in the virtual world and are missing out on interacting with each other.

[Vietnam] Planning comes for Da Nang’s Lien Chieu Port
Central Da Nang city is planning to build the Lien Chieu Port with total investment capital of VND32.86 trillion ($1.48 billion).

The Port and Waterway Engineering Consultant Joint Stock Company (Tediport) met with leaders of the Da Nang City People’s Committee on October 1 to submit a pre-feasibility study for the project.

Construction will be implemented as a public-private partnership (PPP) and the first phase is expected to be operational by 2022.

[Vietnam] Know the setting
Most businesspeople, when considering business opportunities in a foreign country, would look at Hofstede’s cultural dimensions to foresee his or her difficulties, not only in competing with local competitors but also in integrating and getting along in a new business environment. If they did so, American businesspeople would have a better appreciation of the significant differences between Vietnam and the US in various regards, such as individualism, indulgence, or long-term orientation, for instance.
